Kunst en Vliegfabriek is looking for board members!

Help build a meaningful role for an organization that really does something in and with the neighborhood. We are looking for board members with a heart for the neighborhood and an eye for structure. Are you a connector who enjoys working with people and wants to support local residents in developing an inspiring program? 

Vacancy: 2 Board Members (Secretary and Treasurer)

Volunteer Position – Rotterdam Charlois – ±2-3 hours per week –

€100 volunteer allowance p.m.

Who are we?

De Kunst en Vliegfabriek is the creative living room of Charlois. Since 2021, we have been bringing neighborhood residents together around music, spoken word, and visual arts, in a place where meeting people is central. Every week we have five programs for young and old, and we have our own music studio. We are growing, and to properly secure that growth, we are strengthening our board.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for two board members: a secretary and a treasurer.

• As secretary, you are the organizational heart of the board. You ensure that meetings run smoothly, take minutes, manage correspondence, and maintain the archives. On average, this takes about 2 to 3 hours per week, partly from home, partly on location. You will participate in at least approximately five board meetings per year and attend neighborhood activities from time to time.
• As treasurer, you manage the foundation's finances. Together with the director, you draw up the budget, keep track of income and expenses, and report to the Supervisory Board. This also requires an average of 2 to 3 hours per week.

Both roles are unpaid, with a volunteer allowance of €100 per month.

Who are we looking for?

We are not looking for perfect credentials, but people with:

• Commitment to the neighborhood and an affinity with what De Kunst en Vliegfabriek does
• Some experience with administration or finance (paid or unpaid)
• Independence, reliability, and the willingness to help build the organization for 2 to 3 years
